What was it like winning the Boombod Giveaway?
I was shocked! When I entered I knew how amazing it would be to win to help me on my weight loss journey. I was also extremely excited to start!
How was your Boombod experience?
I noticed a big difference in my bloating, which made me feel amazing! My cravings weren’t as bad as I felt they were under control and I didn’t need a sweet fix.
What did you think of each Boombod flavor? Which one is your favorite?
I enjoyed them all! My favorite one is Blackcurrant!
What motivated you to start your weight loss journey?
I started my journey back in 2015 and lost 5 stone by eating less and moving more. However when I got diagnosed with endometriosis in 2019 I put most of the weight back on. Boombod has given me back the motivation to keep going and that it is possible to lose weight!
What are some high-fibre foods you incorporate alongside your Boombod program?
Porridge, nuts and spinach. I also made soup with loads of different vegetables.
Do you have an exercise routine? Tell us a little bit about it.
The most exercise I do is walking. Due to endometriosis, I am limited to how much exercise I can do. When I’m feeling up to it, I use a good app called FitOn. It's free to use and has some fantastic workouts! Or I use my weighted hula hoop.
What does a day in your life look like?
I get up at 7:15 am to get myself ready for work, then I get my son up and ready for school. We both have breakfast - I have either my smoked salmon on toast or a smoothie. I take my son to school and then I head to work. For lunch at work I have my homemade vegetable soup with 2 fibre Ryvita crackers, some chicken, nuts and cucumber. I don’t have a snack, working in a pharmacy can get busy. After work, I get my son from the childminder and we head home. I have a smoked salmon wrap with spinach. In the evening after my son goes to bed, I make a small bowl of treats! I have a sweet tooth so I don’t restrict myself, otherwise I’d binge. I always give myself 200/500 calories of snacks in the evening.
Any advice for people who are thinking about starting their weight loss journey with Boombod?
Plan! Plan! Plan! Sit down and plan out your meals! Do your shopping list and get everything you need for the week. Once you have bought everything, check dates then do your meal plan in order so you’re not wasting any food! If you have a busy schedule, batch cook everything you can. Don't restrict yourself. Allow 1 small treat per day. You are less likely to have a binge.
