4 Tips To Stay On Track At Home
Posted by Danielle on
SO...who else is having a hard time staying on track at home đââď¸Tackling your weight loss goals is hard enough without the constant glares from the a bag of chips sitting on your counter...or the candies you got for your birthday that youâve been SO GOOD at staying away from. Weâre all in the same boat and weâre going to need to pull together to get through these tough times! Weâre sharing some tips that the team at Boombod HQ is currently using to help us establish a routine while working at home AND staying on track with healthy eating habits đÂ
Work Meets Home
So for starters...letâs talk about working or studying from home. This is a HUGE change for most of us. Whether weâre used to having the flexibility of working from home or not, being required to do so is a whole different ball game. Yes...the first few days are glorious! You donât have to worry about makeup, shaving, or sitting in the morning/afternoon commute. Maybe you sleep in a little for those first few days, but everything starts to blend together - work, snacks, stepping outside. Your home has now become your office. So what can you do to help get back on track and redefine what working from home looks like?
Stick with your usual morning routine, or adapt to a new one that helps you feel refreshed in the morning. If you have a coffee maker that can be programmed to brew on its own, set it the night before. That SWEET smell of coffee is often enough to pull you out of bed. So with that said, avoid sleeping in, get up at your usual time and if you normally head out to the gym or go for a morning walk, DO IT!Â
Exercise & get outside! There are tons of great online workouts out there and...fresh air is FREE! Not only does this encourage you to exercise while outside, but getting a breath of fresh air is amazing for helping you to relax before starting the day! According to a recent study, Vitamin D from the sun also helps to improve your mood and can help promote weight loss! You can also get loads of Vitamins from taking your Boombod shots and supplements!Â
Practice self care. Weâre all feeling some type of way about what is happening in the world today. Itâs a stressful time for many and thatâs why itâs SUPER important to take care of yourself. Make time to have a bath, read a good book or meditate! These quiet activities will help to calm your mind and keep you grounded!
Last BUT certainly NOT least...
Continue to meal prep! Having healthy snacks and meals on hand will make it that much easier to reach for those vs. grabbing a candy bar or making a bag of popcorn. Definitely tuck those snacks out of sight for the time being to minimize temptation. Keep things like granola bars, carrot and celery sticks or nuts and fruit on hand for when you feel like you need a little snack!Â
The team at Boombod HQ recently made these AMAZING protein balls that were featured on TikTok and they are SUPER simple to make. With only 5 ingredients, low sugar and grain free - they are treat the whole family can enjoy đ
5 Ingredient Protein Balls
This recipe should make about 18-20 balls depending on the size you like to make them!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of nut butter (any kind - but we like almond, peanut, or cashew)
- 3-5 pitted medjool dates (add more to make it a bit sweeter)
- 2/3 cup hemp seeds
- 1/4 cup chia seeds (or other seeds, such as sesame or flax)
- 3-4 Tbsp protein powder (you can use chocolate, vanilla, peanut butter â or other flavor of choice)
Instructions:
- Add nut butter, pitted dates, hemp seeds, chia seeds, and protein powder to a blender or food processor and blend until all ingredients are well combined and have a similar texture to cookie dough.Â
- Feel free to add additional dry ingredients if your mixture is too wet (protein powder or more hemp seeds are a great option).
- Taste a small amount and adjust ingredients as needed, adding more dates for sweetness. Mix until well combined.
- Scoop out rounded 1 Tbsp amounts and roll into balls. Place the parchment paper on a tray and pop in the fridge or freezer for at least 30 minutes.
Feel free to top the balls with melted chocolate, coconut or other toppings of your choice and ENJOY!
